The challenge

Our client, an aerospace software developer, needed support in recruiting IT experts to join their team - React Frontend Developers, Java and C++ Backend Developers with knowledge of QT libraries and Google Cloud Platform. The main challenges were:

  • The high level of technical skills required (including experience working on complex aerospace projects), 
  • The implementation time of several months (which discouraged many candidates), 
  • The company's location in a time zone that made it difficult to recruit candidates from countries such as Poland, and the competition (there were many other companies in the market looking for similar specialists). 

The client also worked with other suppliers to improve their chances, but none were able to provide a stable and sufficient level of support.

The solution

In response to the client's challenges, we proactively proposed the following solutions:

Together with the client, we reviewed, modified and refined the requirements to better match the candidates to the specifics of the projects. We supplemented the candidate base by actively sourcing new candidates (and verifying the existing candidate base) through social media, industry portals and referrals.

The initial vetting process focused on technical aspects, as the client preferred to assess candidates on soft skills during final interviews. Meetings lasted up to 1.5 hours in order to assess their skills and fit with the client's team as thoroughly as possible.

The result

We provided the client with access to a large pool of matched candidates. We uploaded over 100 profiles and conducted 30 vetting sessions, resulting in more people than the client had originally anticipated for the project.

Unlike our competitors, we were able to effectively match candidates to the specifics of the client's projects and engage them in the process to such an extent that we did not have to look for emergency replacements during the vetting and negotiation process.
